Baoding, Hebei, is home to the headquarters of Great Wall Motor (GWM). As one of the first Chinese automakers to “go global,” GWM sold more than 289,000 new vehicles overseas in the first half of this year, up 45.46% year on year, with strong growth in the Latin American market and Brazil as a key stop. Li Jiaming, Commercial Counselor of the Brazilian Embassy in China, said that Brazil attaches importance to new energy and manufacturing and welcomes Chinese automakers to develop in Brazil. GWM’s Brazil plant is scheduled to start production in August 2025, its first plant in the Americas. Under its ecosystem-based global expansion strategy, GWM products have reached more than 170 countries and regions. As it sets sail for global markets, GWM is enabling China’s intelligent manufacturing to resonate with the transformation of the global automotive industry.
